På oppdrag for FN
I 1994 var Rwanda åsted for folkemord. To år senere reiste 23 år gamle Clea Koff hit på oppdrag for FNs krigsforbryterdomstol. Jobben hennes var å grave opp bevisene som påviste folkemord og brudd på menneskerettighetene. Clea Koff var den yngste av et team på 16 som fikk dette oppdraget og som rettsantropolog undersøkte hun skjelettene til ofrenes levninger, identifiserte dem og fant ut hvordan de ble drept.

Gjennom fire år følger vi Clea på oppdrag for FN i Rwanda og Bosnia, Kroatia og Kosovo. Vi får hennes opplevelser av grusomhetene hun møter og funnene hun som profesjonell rettsantropolog i møte med noen av de verste overgrepene i det tjuende århundre.

Håp og rettferdighet
Clea Koffs sterke beretning – om det hun ser og hvordan det påvirker henne – er gripende, skremmende og full av håp.

Det kan virke fjernt for oss, men denne boka forteller at drapsmenn og ofre alle er mennesker, og hvilken viktig, men tøff oppgave de som skal rydde opp og skape rettferdighet etterpå har.
